RE: Securing Chairs

I have two of the same type chairs you are talking about in my cardinal. Both of the chairs fit in one of the slides. What cardinal did for each chair was to put a anchor bolt/hook so the chair would fit between them. They then attached straps to the hooks so the chairs could be secured. I have not had any trouble with the chairs moving.

RE: Concertone audio question?

In order for you to get the sound to match tv channel, you will have to set up your tv to act as a monitor only. Use the concertone as the tuner, the problem with that is you will not get any digital channels. I have not found a way to use the tv as a tuner and the concertone to act as speaker system. As for the remote concertone is not a multi function remote you would still have to use the tv remote to turn it on.

RE: New 5ver: Cardinal, Montana, Bighorn,Jayco Designer

Steve,
When I went looking for a new 5th wheel I started with the items I knew I wanted. i.e. standing room in the bedroom, how does the t.v. in bedroom set things like that. The three mfg. that you listed all have great units. Each one will have its own list of problems. I would take the advise of the other post and look at them without a salemen around. You being a past owner will know what you want and what to look for.

RE: Condensation Issue

Tammy,
Where the roof vent in the bath area is very close to the a/c in the bed room a lot of cold air is getting to it. As the cover for the vent is just plastic with no insulation you may think about getting a piece of foam cutting it to the size of the vent and placing it in the opening. As you have a Cardinal you may want to check out the Cardinal RV Club cardinalrvclub.org . The folks there maybe able to help also.

RE: Cardinal 5th wheels

I own a 08 Cardinal and love it. I think both MFG. are good and each has pros and cons that go with them. I decided on Cardinal for a couple reasons that over the years have become important to me. Could I stand up in the bedroom, could I walk between the bed and the nose, how does the bedroom TV set. For more information on Cardinals you should go to this site, cardinalrvclub.org these folks will give you a large amount of knowledge on the cardinal brand.

RE: Storing 50A detachable cord

I also use the plastic milk crate. Its a stronger plastic than the rubber maid. I leave enough of the trailer end out then coil the rest.

RE: Jeep Toad Wheel Got Hot

A few years ago when I had a MH jeep combo I had the same thing happen. I was not as lucky as you however. The problem was I did not have the jeeps key in the proper position, thus it locked the steering wheel so the jeeps wheels could not turn with the MH.

FifthAirborne vs. Trailair Pin Box

I have done the search, read the web sites, and am still trying to figure out what the difference is between the two pin boxes. I need to soften the ride in the truck when going over bumps. My truck is a 1 ton dully so the suspension is tight to begin with. I think most of the problem comes with the front to back motion, however when I slow down there is alot of up and down transfer. Has anybody had experience with both the pin boxes.

RE: 1999 Southwind Intellitec climate control problems

I had 98 35' Southwind, I have read and re-read your question trying to figure it out. First is the MH plugged into 30 or 15 amp.? If 15 the AC will go back and forth. If 30 amp after units start they should stay steady. You say the problem did not start until after changing the converter. This would leave me (as you) to think it had to deal with the re-wiring of the climate control panel. If you use only 1 AC does the panel show it as steady or conserving power? I guess what I am trying to say is start working just one to see how it works. Another thing to look at might be the thermostats relation to the control panel. Work the AC's without thermostats. I would also work the issue with the AC's first as the furnaces take a while to recycle after they shut gas off.
I know this may not have been big help but best thought process I can come up with for you

RE: For those that have king pin stabilizer ???

I used to have a two leg but just was not happy with it. Now have a 3 leg from BAL, Its heavy but does the job very well. Of the two kinds I looked at I went with BAL for the location of the tightening screw. I did not like the ones that tightened at the king pin.

RE: power to cool

My wife also needs the oxygen system, here's how I handled the problem. I did not want to take a generator as tried it once and found more problems that it was worth. The plug in you truck is for the trailer lights and the battery. You will not beable to run the trailer ac and the oxygen machine at the same time off batteries, the oxygen takes way to much power. What I have done is get the small air bottles and take with you. I will carry between 6 and 12 bottles this will cover anyneeded problems that may come up. Also depending on where you are going get the name and number of the closet oxygen provider near your campground. As for the cooling once at campsite it does not take long to cool the trailer down. Bottom line if you feel you will need power 100% of the time you will need a generator. Just a side note, you will need to find a place to put the oxygen machine while in trailer, much noise and will vibrate area its near.
